Accommodation options in the Kruger National Park varies from camping in your own tent for $25, to the most luxurious safari lodges in the world, priced at over $1000 per person per night.
The public area of the Kruger National Park has a large number of "rest camps" which are open to self-drive tourists and used by tour operators. Accommodation option in these camps include camping, permanent canvas tents without bathroom, luxury safari tents with bathroom, standard bungalows with en-suite bathroom and air-condition, luxury self-catering bungalows, 2-bedroom guest cottages, and luxury guesthouses sleeping 8 people or more. Some of the most popular camps include Skukuza, Lower Sabie, Satara, and Olifants camp, but there are many more.
Within the Kruger Park there are a number of private concession areas with luxury safari lodges which include all meals and game drives. In addition to this, along the western boundary of the Kruger National Park there are numerous privately owned game reserves which shared unfenced boundaries with Kruger. Examples of these reserves include the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Timbavati Game Reserve, Klaserie Nature Reserve and Balule Game Reserve, among others. The whole area under conservation is known as the greater Kruger National Park, and the lodges in these reserves range from reasonably priced 4 star lodges to ultra luxury 5 star lodges that consistently rank among the best hotels in the world.
